STUDIO POTTER

My hope is that when you pick up a piece of my pottery and turn it around in your hand, it gives you the same feeling as turning a small stone or a seashell over in your hand- noticing the subtleties, the smoothness, the weight. Maybe, by bringing these pots into your home and daily life, you’ll experience a similar contemplative moment with each use.

My studio is a place of reflection and observation. Of practice, research, learning. Study of form and function. Delight in the clay on my hands and the beauty of the material.

Each piece I make is shaped by hand- each unique, but made with intent and integrity. They are crafted with longevity and purpose in mind, and my hope is that they become part of your life in a way that enriches your day-to-day.

I began learning in clay in 2005, as a sophomore in college, and graduated with a degree in Ceramics in 2008. I’ve been teaching a community pottery class at The Clay Lady Studio in Nashville from 2010-present, and over the course of 2020-2021 my husband and I transformed a detached garage into a lovely little home studio, so that I can produce and fire my work at home while raising our two little boys.
